Nestled high in the Pyrenees, Soldeu is a mountain village in the principality of Andorra, best known for its access to Grandvalira, which is one of the largest ski areas in Southern Europe. At 1,800 meters above sea level, Soldeu has grown from a quiet farming village into a winter destination with over 200 kilometers of slopes. It hosted World Cup alpine ski races in 2019 and is scheduled to host the Finals again in 2029. With wide, well-maintained pistes and a ski school known for its English-speaking instructors, it's a place that welcomes both first-time skiers and seasoned visitors looking for quieter slopes than those in the Alps.

Outside the winter season, Soldeu transforms into a base for high-altitude hiking, mountain biking, and alpine wildlife spotting. Trails lead through protected areas like the Incles Valley, just a short walk from the village. This glacial valley is known for its wooden farmhouses and rare Pyrenean flora. In late spring and summer, shepherds still guide herds through the area, preserving a rhythm of life that’s centuries old. The nearby Juclar Lakes can be reached on foot, offering panoramic views and alpine meadows scattered with marmots.
